We invite you to the May School Field Seminar, which we are organizing again in cooperation with the Slovenian Association of Educational Researchers (SLODRE). We will organize it as a round table with the authors of the monograph (“festschrift”) dedicated to our recently deceased colleague Prof. Dr. Skalar, a widely known and respected professor and prominent researcher in education. The book was published under the title “It’s about people!”; it was edited by Gorazd Meško and Darja Zorc Maver, and in it ten authors publish articles that address current professional and scientific issues related to the work of Professor Skalar from various disciplinary perspectives (pedagogy, psychology, social pedagogy, criminology, penology and philosophy), and provide their personal impressions of working with him.
The round table is an opportunity to pay tribute to the late colleague for his dedicated work, but on the other hand, it aims to primarily update some issues related to his scientific and professional work, marked by sincere and deep humanism. The focus will therefore be on issues related to the current state and future of the principle of humanism in education. After the introductory contributions that will be given in this direction, we expect an interesting discussion, to which we invite everyone.
