We invite you to the School Field seminar, where we will meet with another established guest from abroad. This time we will be visited by Prof. Dr. Gert Biesta (University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg; Stirling University, UK until the end of 2012), author of a number of acclaimed books and articles on educational theories and policies, such as: Learning Democracy in School and Society (Rotterdam: Sense, 2011); Making Sense of Education: Fifteen Contemporary Educational Theorists in Their Own Words (Dordrecht: Springer, 2012); The beautiful risk of education (Boulder, CO: Paradigm Publishers; 2013 – in press), etc.
His introductory lecture bears the provocative title Good Education in an Age of Measurement and is linked to his 2010 monograph (London: Pergamon Publ.). As usual, the lecture will be followed by a discussion, in which we will, as usual, ask questions and seek answers together with our guest. The seminar will be held in English.
