Pavel Zgaga

Pavel Zgaga DPUPavel Zgaga je redni profesor za filozofijo edukacije na Pedagoški Fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani, kjer poučuje na vseh treh stopnjah študija. Bil je vodja ali raziskovalec v mnogih domačih in mednarodnih raziskovalnih projektih, ki so bili povezani z konceptualnimi vprašanji izobraževanja, izobraževalnimi politikami in še zlasti s študijami visokega šolstva, v tem okviru pa tudi z vprašanji visokošolskega izobraževanja učiteljev. Na teh področjih veliko objavlja, tako doma kot v mednarodnem prostoru, je pa tudi član uredniških odborov pri več mednarodnih znanstvenih revijah. Na svojem strokovnem področju sodeluje z različnimi mednarodnimi organizacijami (npr. Svet Evrope, Evropska komisija, UNESCO, OECD idr.), kot predavatelj in konzulent pa je vabljen tudi v mnoge države. – V obdobju po osamosvojitvi Slovenije je na tedanjem Ministrstvu za šolstvo in šport deloval kot državni sekretar (1992–1999) in kot  minister za šolstvo in šport (1999–2000). Po vrnitvi na univerzo je soustanovil Center za študij edukacijskih politik (CEPS, 2001), ki deluje na Pedagoški fakulteti in ki ga vodi še danes. Bil je tudi dekan Pedagoške fakultete (2002–2004). Leta 2006 je prejel državno nagrado na področju šolstva in sicer za svoj prispevek na področju raziskovanja vzgoje in izobraževanja. Leta 2007 mu je švedska Univerza Umeå podelila častni doktorat, na Univerzi v Ljubljani pa je istega leta za svoje delovanje prejel Zlato plaketo. Leta 2010 je spodbudil ustanovitev Slovenskega društva za raziskovanje edukacije, ki ga je do letos poleti tudi vodil, ob tem pa je bil tudi član Sveta Evropske zveze raziskovalcev edukacije (EERA).
