Pavel Zgaga

zgagaPavel Zgaga je redni profesor za filozofijo edukacije na Pedagoški fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani. Leta 2001 je soustanovil Center za študije edukacijske politike na Pedagoški fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani in je njen vodja vse do danes. Pridobil je več raziskovalnih podpor ter vodil oziroma sodeloval v številnih nacionalnih in mednarodnih raziskovalnih projektih. Ti projekti so v glavnem zadevali problematiko edukacijskih politik in zlasti visokega šolstva v sodobnem evropskem kontekstu, pa tudi izobraževanje učiteljev kot specifično področje znotraj visokega šolstva. Na teh področjih je tudi sodeloval z ustreznimi oddelki Evropske komisije in z več mednarodnimi organizacijami kot npr. Svet Evrope, UNESCO, OECD itd. Bil je tudi konzultant in vabljeni govornik v mnogih državah ter vključen v več Tempus projektov. – V devetdesetih letih je bil državni sekretar za visoko šolstvo (1992 – 1999) in Minister za šolstvo in šport (1999 – 2000). Po povratku na univerzo je bil dekan Pedagoške fakultete (2002 – 2004). Vključen je bil tudi v zgodnja leta bolonjskega procesa, npr. Kot glavni poročevalec (2001-2003), član sveta BFUG (2004-2005) in kot poročevalec delovne skupine BFUG o eksterni dimenziji bolognjskega procesa (2006-2007). – Je član več uredniških odborov, npr. Journal of Educational Policy, Theory and Research in Education, European Journal of Higher Education, Voprosy obrazovaniya, CEPS Journal itd. – Leta 2006 je prejel slovensko državno nagrado za raziskovanje na področju izobraževanja. Leta 2007 mu je Univerza Umeå podelila častni doktorat, Univerza v Ljubljani pa Zlato plaketo.
