From Class to Identity. The Politics of Education Reforms in Former Yugoslavia

8 May 2014

We are slowly approaching the end of the study year and we are once again invite you to our School field seminar. This time we will host dr. Jana Bacevic from Arhus University, Denmark.

Jana will present her book From Class to Identity. The Politics of Education Reforms in Former Yugoslavia, published last year, in which she provides an innovative analysis of education policy-making in the processes of social transformation and post-conflict development in the Western Balkans. Based on case studies of educational reform in the former Yugoslavia – from the decade before its violent breakup to contemporary efforts in post-conflict reconstruction – From Class to Identity tells the story of the political processes and motivations underlying each reform.

The seminar will take place on May 8 2014 (at 19.00) at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Education, Kardeljeva pl. 16, Ljubljana.
